The man makes the clothes, not vice-versa.
I tried on every brownish jacket I own today before putting on a blue hoody I wear everywhere all the time. The bomber style jacket I bought in Jersey, the trendy sport coat Guess jacket from last month, another greyish hoody with brown accents…
Then I put on my not-so-trendy, sporty blue zip-up hoody with a Nike symbol so small and hidden you can’t see it unless I have the hood on.
I can dress really well when I want to. And I like having fitted clothes and being able to “clean up nicely”. I really like wearing Diesel shoes and Lucky jeans, for instance. But — and this works well with my “finding passion” theme recently — I don’t want to be noticed for my clothes.
I want to be noticed for me.
