American Express arbitrarily lowered my credit limit a couple of weeks back. I called Experian to get my complimentary credit report and discovered two accounts that I didn’t open. Turns out someone got Paypal Buyer Credit and a snazzy Macy’s credit card in my name.
Everybody go egg this guy’s house, ok?

And while you’re at it, toilet paper this one:
185 Hale St., San Francisco, CA 94134.
Bastards.
I do have to say this for Paypal and Macy’s, however. Once I got through the ten minutes of voice-menu hell, cozied up to the guy in Bangalore who couldn’t understand how I didn’t have access to my own account number, then got escalated back to somebody in the states, it all got handled very quickly. I know, 30 minutes on the phone to get to the right person isn’t exactly making me dance around in glee, but once I got there, they were understanding, efficient, and helpful.
I might even get those bogus addresses off of my credit report in the next 60 days or so. Imagine that.
It remains to be seen how difficult it’s going to be for ME to get new credit in the future. Humph.
what is the significance of those two addresses above?
