Millionaire stats

According to cnn, there were 7.5 millionaires in America at the end of 2004.

I looked this up because of a recent discussion on wealth distribution in the United States.

The current stats at the Census Bureau say that the population in the U.S. is

So… roughly-speaking then, that’s 7.5 million into 298,381,033. So 7500000 into 298381033 is… (googling) a little more than 2.5%.

So a millionaire living in the United States is, somehow, a solid member of the elite/ruling class. Humph. I need to get on that.
