Rental Car Niche

You ever try to rent the truck at Home Depot? It’s a bitch, and the darn thing is $19 for the first 90 minutes and a per hour fee thereafter. Not all stores have one, and the ones that do only have one.

A small shop across the street from a Home Depot that rented only 1 ton pickups or larger would make a killing — especially if the rental process was super streamlined — just include the insurance in the base price, put one of those lo-jack security devices and a GPS on it for recovery, and voila. You could even accept all-cash rentals at a higher rate.

How many Home Depots are there across the country? And Lowe’s?

You could also include a laborer to help load and unload for a higher fee.

The same outlet could also accept specific delivery orders from pre-established customers. Fax or phone in your order, we’ll add a surcharge and the standard rental fee, and go fetch the materials for delivery in the off hours.
